Tree with Bat House1. Read or watch something you remember from your past, whether it be a comic book, cartoon, television show, or book. This will allow you to see things a different way without being influenced by the same thing everyone else is stuck on. Looking to the past will allow you to understand the elements that stood up to the test of time and what still captivates and commands attention.

2. Stop reading and doing what others tell you. Your 5th grade police officer was right. Peer pressure and influences will get you nowhere. We’re not saying to totally block out the world, but there are a lot of opinions out there, and you need to be sure to listen and take your own path. Be a leader and think for yourself when it comes to writing, executing, strategizing, and making decisions. Trust us, original content gets noticed.

3. Be yourself, kinda. For instance, look at the classic Batman TV show. They did the quirky, over-the-top content that was sometimes considered outrageous, but you still remember the nostalgic “POW, CLASH, BANG!” We all have friends who still use those dumb catch phrases, and it’s those things we remember most.

4. Entertain the masses with your style, just don’t be too out-of-the-box. Some of the world’s best entertainers didn’t get there by being safe or half-pregnant. They did it by being adventurous. Try it sometime. Don’t hold back and don’t be afraid of what people will think about your “weird” antics.
