Search Engine Optimization Strategies: Link Building

Digital Mixing DeckNovember is right around the corner, and you know what that means... It’s time to vote! Now, you may or not be excited for the 2012 presidential election, but you can learn something about SEO from the media in the upcoming weeks. First, let’s take a look back to 2008. If I Were A...St. Louis Restaurant (Steps 3-6)

Chinese Food SignStep Four - On and Off Page Changes

If you’ve been following this blog, you should know that content has a lot of weight when it comes to ranking higher. I would start by improving my on and off page content, beginning with the meta tags. If I were a restaurant owner, I would make my H1 tag “St. Louis Italian Cuisine | Restaurant Name,” or something of that nature. My description tag would include accreditation, trust marks, snip-its from reviews, or grades.

Put Your Business on the Map

MapLocalization plays a key role in your small business, and displaying your location, business hours, contact information, and specials can get your business noticed more often. Google introduced service areas years ago which helped alleviate a lot of issues related to being a home-based business. Your street address can be entered into Google and Yahoo fairly easily, and we’ll start by walking you through the process.

You begin by signing into your Google account and going to the Google Maps network in an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Then, you’ll see a link on the left hand side that says “Put your business on Google Maps.” By clicking that link, you’ll be brought to a page that is referred to as a “dashboard.” You can add several business locations to the dashboard or just add a single location. Some of the fields can really help get your business or website found, and they include: a description of your business, your business category (up to five,) service areas, hours of operation, and photos (up to ten.)

Why Choose a Local SEO Consultant for your SMB?

Local MarketFor a small business owner, it’s important to choose a local SEO professional over one that has a larger presence and is located outside of your small business’ immediate geographic area. For instance, a St. Louis SEO consultant understands the needs of a local St. Louis business; they may have heard of your business and are more familiar with the industry in which you operate. Today we’ll explore three main reasons why it’s important to engage in a local SEO professional instead of a larger, regional or national firm.

Cost. The bigger the SEO firm, the higher the cost to you. As a small business owner, you may not need all of the power and resources of a regional or national SEO agency. Regional and national SEO companies usually have larger, more recognized clients, ultimately driving up the price of labor. Remember, SEO is fundamental in nature and can be done just as effectively, or even more effectively using a local SEO company. Smaller companies can get more done with limited budgets and can tailor themselves to your business.
